Hannah West

Hannah West, MSW Intern

Supervised by Laura Parry, LCSW, PMH-C

Hannah West is a Master of Social Work intern who approaches counseling with compassion, collaboration, and authenticity while providing therapy services under the supervision of Laura Parry, LCSW. Hannah believes people are inherently worthy of compassion, connection, and growth — and that mistakes and painful experiences are not defining failures, but opportunities for greater self-awareness, resilience, and healing. Her approach is grounded in the belief that people don't need to be "fixed." She strives to create a humanistic, anti-shame therapeutic space where clients feel safe exploring themselves with honesty, curiosity, and compassion.

Hannah works with:

  • Women navigating identity, self-worth, shame, and the pressures that build across different stages of life

  • Teens and adolescents

  • Couples and individuals facing relationship challenges

  • Anxiety, depression, and perfectionism

  • Life transitions

She is especially drawn to working with clients who feel misunderstood, unseen, or pressured to conform to expectations that don't reflect who they truly are.

Hannah brings more than 15 years of experience in education, having served as a teacher, administrator, experiential learning coordinator, and school social worker. Much of her work has focused on supporting teens and their families from diverse backgrounds as they navigate personal, relational, and systemic challenges. Through these experiences, she developed a deep respect for the uniqueness of each person's perspective and reinforced her belief in connection and collaboration as essential parts of growth, understanding, and healing. She earned a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Psychology from Utah State University and is currently completing her Master of Social Work at Utah Valley University, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2027.

In her work, Hannah draws on:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches

  • Somatic approaches

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

  • Trauma-informed and strengths-based frameworks

Outside of work, Hannah feels most grounded through nature, movement, and creativity. She enjoys photography, live music, paragliding, dancing, hiking, camping, and spending time in the mountains.

If you're considering therapy, think of Hannah as your guide on a trail you've never hiked before. She won't rush you past the hard parts or promise a clear path — but she will walk alongside you through the unexpected turns, the changing conditions, and the moments you need to rest.
